April 30, 2022, marks the 47th year since the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975. The events represent a dark chapter in the history of Vietnam and are referred to as “Black April” by the overseas Vietnamese communities, including our Vietnamese-American neighbors here in San Jose. We honor the resiliency of the Vietnamese communities overseas, as well as the growth and contributions of the Vietnamese-American community in San Jose.
Franklin-McKinley School District will raise the Vietnamese Heritage flag at Windmill Springs School located at 2880 Aetna Way, San Jose, CA, on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. A light breakfast will be served. I hope that you can join us! RSVP to juan.cruz@fmsd.org.
Sincerely,
Juan Cruz
