Becky Roussin, Principal
Dear Windmill Springs School Community,
It is my pleasure to join the community this year as principal of Windmill Springs Elementary. I am new to the Franklin McKinley School District this year, but I come to you with 14 years of educational experience.
I am originally from Southern California, where I taught in the Garden Grove School District for eleven years. I taught transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. Before I left Garden Grove, I spent time supporting district curriculum and instruction and individual school sites as a district coach. As a coach I supported, mentored, and trained veteran and new teachers in improving their instructional practices.
For the past three years, I have been an assistant principal at a local elementary school. I was able to support staff and students as the school went through major construction. I also helped to support parents through educational and engagement activities. I believe as educators it is our duty to empower students to lead their own learning. I love being a school leader.
We at Windmill not only consider ourselves educators but practitioners of instilling the love of lifelong learning and humanitarianism in each and every student. Our school culture has structures aligned with encouraging open communications, preventing bullying with immediate home-school interventions, providing students with experiences that will broaden their horizons and constantly looking to improve our practices, keeping updated with the latest research and tools offered to educators.
On a personal note, I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful boxer named Lucy. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and doing yoga.
I believe in an open door and constant communication. Please feel free to come by, email or call with any communication needs. I look forward to getting to know all of Windmill Springs' Families.
Mrs. Becky Roussin
