Principal's Message

Dear Windmill Springs School Community,

It is my pleasure to continue  as principal of Windmill Springs School. I have been the principal for the past six years. Additionally, I come to you with 21 years of educational experience.

I am originally from Southern California, where I taught in the Garden Grove School District for eleven years. I taught transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. Before I left Garden Grove, I spent time supporting district curriculum and instruction and individual school sites as a district coach. As a coach I supported, mentored, and trained veteran and new teachers in improving their instructional practices and strategies.

Before becoming a principal, I was an assistant principal at a local elementary school for three years.  I was able to support staff and students as the school went through major construction.  I also helped to support parents through educational and engagement activities. I believe as educators it is our duty to empower students to lead their own learning. I love being a school leader.

We, at Windmill, not only consider ourselves educators but practitioners of instilling the love of lifelong learning and instilling leadership in each and every student. As a Leader In Me School, our school culture has structures aligned with encouraging leadership of self and leadership of others, along with students finding their voice.  We provide extracurricular activities to help engage students and to help students find their genius. Additionally, we are home to the Vietnamese Dual Immersion program.

On a personal note, I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful boxer named Diablo.  I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and doing yoga.

I believe in an open door and constant communication.  Please feel free to come by, email or call with any communication needs.  I look forward to getting to know all of Windmill Springs' Families.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Becky Roussin
