In second grade, we pride ourselves in teaching and enforcing the basic fundamentals of reading, writing, and math. Our curriculum dabbles in points of history from around the world like ancient China, India, and Greece. We also touch on Westward Expansion in the United States, the War of 1812, and the Civil War. Besides these areas in history, we also have units in science like; cycles of nature, insects, and nutrition within the human body. All of these units are part of our highly engaging reading curriculum that inspires students to want to read more nonfiction material that aligns with common core.
