On Friday, January 26th, Windmill Springs hosted its second annual Career Day event, with speakers from such businesses as HP, LinkedIn, and The San Francisco Chronicle. Finance managers, UX designers, reporters, nurses, police officers, a chef, and many others shared information about their educational backgrounds, career paths, and daily activities in their current careers with students from grades kindergarten through 8.
Students began in their homerooms, each class listening to a different speaker. They then went to two additional sessions, learning more about different careers. The event culminated with a question and answer session, where students in grades 6 through 8 were able to ask questions of the entire panel of guests.
Students found the experience very valuable and appreciated being exposed to a variety of careers and being able to get firsthand information from people working in fields that matched their interests. We look forward to next year's event.
