Reading Plus and Lexia

Lexia and Reading Plus (site code: rpwindm) are computer-aided literacy programs that enable students to improve their skills by engaging in activities aligned to their level of competencies. Students are given time in class to practice using these programs. They are also encouraged to work on the programs at home. Because these programs are web-based, students can log on anywhere they have access to an internet connection.

Each program begins with a placement test to determine students' current levels of performance. This allows the program to provide activities that target individual students' specific learning needs. Lexia helps students in grades K-5 develop and strengthen their foundational reading skills. Reading Plus helps students in grades 3-8 strengthen reading rate (iBalance), reading comprehension (See Reader), and vocabulary (Read Around). The number and types of assignments are based on students initial assessment results and identified needs.
